(Nordic Chinese Times) From humanoid robots that can run, jump, and interact,to automated sorting and delivery systems, and intelligent recognition equipment already deployed in overseas parking facilities, representatives of overseas Chinese-language media gained first-hand insight into the vitality of Chengdu’s robotics industry and international service ecosystem during a visit to Chengdu High-Tech Zone on June3.
The visit was part of the joint media tour,“2026Overseas Chinese Media Sichuan-Chongqing Tour–Focusing on the Development of the Chengdu-Chongqing Twin-City Economic Circle.”
At Training Ground B of the Sichuan Humanoid Robot Training Center, located in Zhuge Space, humanoid robots demonstrated jumping, turning, and interactive capabilities, prompting media representatives to raise their phones and capture the impressive scenes.
“I hope the robotics industry can continue to develop rapidly,”said Chen Wen,Deputy President ofUS-China Headlinesin the United States.“Although China started relatively late in robotics development,it has progressed remarkably fast and is now leading the world in many areas.”
According to Cheng Qingmiao,Director of Cooperation and Development at Sichuan Embodied Humanoid Robot Technology Co.,Ltd.,the training center serves both the company’s own research and development needs—including extreme sports testing, hardware upgrades, and data collection—and a broader educational mission.
“We hope to build a‘school’for robots, allowing them to continuously learn and evolve toward true generalization and versatility,”Cheng said.In the future, the facility will also be opened to external enterprises seeking collaboration, further enhancing Chengdu’s embodied intelligence ecosystem.
Later, the overseas Chinese media delegation visitedChengdu Yuefan Innovation Technology Co.,Ltd.,where they experienced an integrated intelligent sorting and delivery system.Through online ordering, automated sorting, and automated delivery, the system significantly improves efficiency while reducing operational costs.
Zeng Qi,Vice President of Yuefan Innovation, explained that the technology has already been deployed in logistics scenarios.Given the dense arrangement of goods in warehouses, robotic arms and grippers require extremely high precision.
“By deeply integrating navigation and real-time3D reconstruction technologies, our system maintains a high success rate in object recognition and picking, even in narrow spaces,”Zeng said.
“Many of these technologies are fully aligned with international standards,”noted Xie Yan,President ofSky Times Weeklyin Canada.Having closely followed the development of Canada’s artificial intelligence industry for many years, she was impressed by the emotional interaction robots,elderly-care companion robots, intelligent parking solutions, and robotic sorting and delivery systems she saw in Chengdu High-Tech Zone.
“In my view,‘Made in Sichuan Intelligence’has already reached an international level,”she said.
At Chengdu Zhenshi Technology Development Co.,Ltd.,media representatives learned that the company’s smart parking and intelligent transportation products have entered markets across Southeast Asia,South America, and Europe.
Wang Weiyu,Deputy General Manager of Zhenshi Technology, explained that Southeast Asia was the company’s first overseas destination.Today, its products are deployed in Malaysia,Singapore,Thailand, and Vietnam, while projects have also been launched in South America and Europe.
“I never expected that many parking facilities in the Philippines are already using products developed by a Sichuan company,”said Cai Youming,Editor-in-Chief ofBusiness Dailyin the Philippines. He believes this demonstrates the growing international recognition of Sichuan’s high-tech products.
Cai also noted that Chinese robot performances during the Spring Festival attracted considerable attention from businesses in the Philippines.
“If robots can achieve faster large-scale commercialization and expand into Southeast Asia and other international markets,I believe they will be extremely popular,”he said.
At theXinchuan Heart Robot Park, media representatives experienced robot-made coffee, robot interactions, and smart service applications, gaining a vivid understanding of how robots are becoming part of everyday life.
After receiving a freshly prepared latte from a robot barista,Xie Yan took a sip and smiled.
“It tastes excellent—perhaps even better than coffee made by a human,”she joked.
Xie added that overseas Chinese-language media will continue to follow these technological innovations and service scenarios emerging from Chengdu.
“We hope to help more overseas audiences see how cities in western China are participating in global cooperation in an increasingly open and pragmatic manner,”she said.
The final stop of the day was theXinchuan Country Service Center, which offered media representatives a new perspective on Chengdu High-Tech Zone’s international business environment.
Bai Tao,head of the center’s operating organization, introduced its integrated platform combining government services, industrial support, and lifestyle services.
“In the future,we will continue working to bridge the‘last mile’for both attracting foreign enterprises to China and helping local companies expand overseas,”Bai said.
