一战华工纪念馆2017年建成。是为了纪念中国在第一次世界大战期间向欧洲战场派出的14万劳工而设立的纪念馆，其中大部分来自山东，威海是一战期间最大的华工招募集结地和训练出发地。是近代中国北洋政府参与世界秩序并试图成为正常国家的见证，在2018年一战终战100周年之际具有特殊的纪念意义。
The WWI Chinese Labour Corps Memorial was completed in2017.It was established to commemorate the140,000Chinese labourers sent to the European front during World War I,most of whom came from Shandong.Weihai was the largest recruitment,assembly,and training center for the Chinese Labour Corps at that time.The memorial stands as a witness to the Beiyang Government’s attempt to participate in the international order and act as a normal sovereign state in modern history,and it holds special significance as the world marked the100th anniversary of the end of WWI in2018.
英国前首相特雷莎·梅写到：中国劳工作出的巨大贡献很大程度上被公众遗忘，因此在纪念一战结束百年之际，我们应该提高对他们作出的非凡贡献的认识。法国总统马克龙写到：在这苦难的时刻，他们是我们的兄弟。
Former British Prime Minister Theresa May wrote:“The tremendous contribution made by the Chinese labourers has been largely forgotten by the public.As we commemorate the centenary of the end of WWI,we should raise awareness of their extraordinary sacrifices.”
French President Emmanuel Macron wrote:“In those times of suffering,they were our brothers.”
该建筑是目前全国唯一的一战华工纪念馆，建筑选址于威海海源公园的一处海边石崖，建筑外形为长方形，俯瞰有明显的十字架形状，为了尽量减少对海岸环境的影响，2/3部分嵌于地下，1/3部分面向大海，建筑深埋地下与场地融为一体。
This memorial is the only museum in China dedicated to the WWI Chinese Labour Corps.It is located on a seaside cliff in Haiyuan Park,Weihai.Rectangular in form,the building appears in the shape of a cross when viewed from above.To minimize environmental impact on the coastline,two-thirds of the structure is embedded underground,while one-third faces the sea,allowing the architecture to blend seamlessly into its natural surroundings.
一条穿越建筑的通道将观众直接送达海边——那里成为一个特殊的起点。这条通道与主入口结合形成了一个十字形的入口空间，象征了近代中国正处于历史发展的十字路口。
A corridor running through the building leads visitors directly to the seaside—creating a symbolic point of departure.This passage,combined with the main entrance,forms a cross-shaped spatial layout,symbolizing the crossroads at which modern China stood during that period of historical transformation.
建筑内部空间结合自然采光组织参观序列，流线紧凑合理。建筑外墙采用木模板清水混凝土与光面清水混凝土相结合，充分体现华人劳工在战争中经受的苦难。
The interior tour sequence is organized with the use of natural lighting,creating a compact and coherent circulation path.The exterior walls combine timber-formwork fair-faced concrete with smooth fair-faced concrete,symbolizing the hardship and resilience of the Chinese labourers during the war.
该建筑是住建部与德国能源署合作的被动式超低能耗绿色建筑，气密性等各项指标通过了德国能源署的检测验收，是国内首座被动房纪念馆。
The memorial is a passive ultra-low-energy green building,jointly developed by China’s Ministry of Housing and Urban-Rural Development and the German Energy Agency.It has passed Germany’s airtightness and performance standards testing,making it the first passive-house memorial building in China.
