苗族系列坡会是广西融水大苗山苗族人民在春节期间举行祭念祖先、驱邪祈福、传承技艺、庆祝丰收、交流感情、愉悦身心的盛大民族民间传统活动。《融水苗族系列坡会群》是国家级非物质文化遗产。
其中，百鸟衣坡会是杆洞乡苗族的传统节日。至今已有三百多年的历史。每逢坡会，来自杆洞、滚贝、洞头以及贵州省从江县一带的苗、侗、瑶、汉等同胞身着民族盛装，从四面八方向杆洞百鸟衣坡会汇集，人数多达数万余人。
传说苗家小伙抵龙善良孝顺，平日靠上山打猎与母亲相依为命。为了给儿子御寒，母亲每天都会把儿子带回家的鸟羽毛清理干净，最终缝制了一件百鸟衣。一天，正在打猎的抵龙突然听到山下有人呼救，抵龙不顾一切从高山纵身跳下，身上的百鸟衣竟然带着他飞到江面上。被抵龙救起的是苗山远近闻名的“寨花”，这位姑娘早就倾慕抵龙的善良，于是当即表白爱意。但两人私订终身遭到了女方父亲的强烈反对。趁着夜色，姑娘逃到抵龙家，狠心的财主父亲连夜派家兵团团围住抵龙家的木楼，扬言第二天不交出女儿就放火烧楼。情急之下，姑娘突然记起百鸟衣曾带着抵龙飞翔的情景，于是和抵龙的母亲一起连夜赶制百鸟衣。第二天清晨，三人穿上百鸟衣终于飞出了家兵的包围圈，来到了一个山清水秀的地方——现在的融水县杆洞乡。人们被抵龙的爱情故事深深打动，就举办百鸟衣节来纪念。
Rongshui Hundred Birds Clothing Slope Festival
The Miao Series Slope Festival is a grand traditional ethnic folk event held by the Miao people of the Great Miao Mountains in Rongshui,Guangxi,during the Spring Festival.It is a time to honor ancestors,ward off evil and pray for blessings,pass down skills,celebrate harvests,foster relationships,and bring joy to body and mind.The"Rongshui Miao Series Slope Festival Group"is recognized as a national intangible cultural heritage.
Among these,the Hundred Birds Clothing Slope Festival is a traditional celebration of the Miao people in Gandong Township.It has a history of over300years.During the festival,Miao,Dong,Yao,and Han compatriots from Gandong,Gunbei,Dongtou,and even Congjiang County in Guizhou Province,dressed in splendid ethnic attire,gather from all directions at the Hundred Birds Clothing Slope Festival in Gandong.The event attracts tens of thousands of participants.
Legend has it that a young Miao man named Di Long was kind and filial.He and his mother depended on each other,living off the game he hunted in the mountains.To keep her son warm,his mother would clean the feathers from the birds he brought home each day,eventually sewing them into a garment known as the Hundred Birds Clothing.One day,while hunting,Di Long heard cries for help from below the mountain.Without hesitation,he leapt from the cliff,and the Hundred Birds Clothing he wore miraculously carried him through the air to the river’s surface.The person he saved was the renowned"village flower"of Miao Mountain,a young woman who had long admired Di Long’s kindness.She immediately confessed her love for him.However,their private engagement was fiercely opposed by her father,a wealthy and ruthless man.Under the cover of night,the young woman fled to Di Long’s home.Her father,enraged,sent his soldiers to surround Di Long’s wooden house,threatening to burn it down the next day if his daughter wasn’t returned.In desperation,the young woman recalled how the Hundred Birds Clothing had enabled Di Long to fly.Together with Di Long’s mother,they worked through the night to create more Hundred Birds Clothing.At dawn the next day,the three of them donned the garments and soared beyond the soldiers’encirclement,landing in a place of beautiful mountains and clear waters—now known as Gandong Township in Rongshui County.Deeply moved by Di Long’s love story,the people began holding the Hundred Birds Clothing Festival to commemorate it.
